Century-old Dreams of a Fishing Harbour -
Episode I

A hundred years of fleeting life have drifted by, who is there to tell of dreams bygone? Only me, the Lu-Ting.

“Century-old Dreams of a Fishing Harbour” is a trilogy. In this Episode I, the legendary half-man-half-fish Lu-Tings will play the storytellers throughout. As the earliest indigenous group of Hong Kong, they will trace the one hundred years between the Opium War and the Japanese Occupation that form part of the history of the place. From the influx of Han resettlers from the Central Plains to the transition from Qing to British colonial rule, the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communists, and the Japanese Occupation, they are both outsiders/bystanders and involuntary players on the ever changing political chessboard. Amidst all that, they have to find a way to survive.
