Century-old Dreams of A Fishing Harbour

Episode III. The Awakening

"Our scales gleam, our hair severed and our bodies tattooed!
Long live the Kingdom of
the Great Fish!"

"Politics is not a game of symbols. It is a fight on all fronts involving the body, the mind, the will and the spirit."

This third part of the Fishing Harbour trilogy continues to tell the history of Hong Kong from 1997 to 2017 through the mouthpiece of the merman legend Luting, who witnesses turbulent events like the handover, SARS outbreak, July 1 March, the emergence of localism and radical politics, and the final showdown in Umbrella Movement, ending in a wide awakening from a 150 years dream of prosperity. Amidst all these chaos and madness, Luting decides to do something which has never been attempted before.
