Moderator: Mr. Chan Chu-hei, Artistic Director of Theatre Horizon.

The backbone of the plot of Bertolt Brecht's play, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, was originally to lampoon Hitler. It reminds the audience not to let history repeat itself. The theme is closely related to making social reforms and changes.

Our guest speaker of this seminar, Mr. Augustine Mok, has been on front line of many social movements and currently trying to make changes utilizing art. According to him,  Art is one of the foremost means to make changes in society.

The seminar will be moderated by Mr. Chan Chu-hei. The discussion will revolve around the role of art in modern society, and especially that of Hong Kong. How does current situation in Hong Kong compare to the times of Arturo Ui? How can history give guidance to and illuminate us who live in the modern world?
