We are very happy to announce that we have invited the renowned director of physical theatre, Mr. Hiroshi Koike to conduct the 'Workshop to Explore Physical Sense through Time.'

We have come to the last workshop of the New Directors' Movement series. We have invited Jean-Rene Toussaint, the inventor of the Primitive Voice method to teach a 5-day Primitive Voice Workshop. We would go back to the basics of this training which is much more than just a vocal training and introduce it to our young actors of Hong Kong.

With each production under the New Directors' Movement, Theatre Horizon instills new ideas and new training with two distinct workshops. We are very lucky to present Jean-Jacques' workshop a  second time in Tragedy - The Modern Atreides and the Musical Body Workshop to explore an actor's musicality and to tell us about Greek theatre performance.

The workshops of Theatre Horizon's 'New Directors' Movement' Series have been very attractive. This time, we have the 'Performing Brecht' Workshop in which we invited a director from Germany to talk about creating theatre utilizing some of Brecht's ideas in modern Germany. And then we have the super physical performer, Makoto Matsushima to further explore his ideas of Funktionen in creating movement.

Voice master, Jean-René Toussaint, will be travelling to Hong Kong the third time to give his wonderful Primitive Voice workshop. Voice workshops for theatre professionals are a rarity and the theatre community knew it. Before long, the workshop was already full.

July is a month in which Theatre Horizon is the filled with Sunshine (Soleil) from France!  From 13th July, we have  Shaghayegh Beheshti, actor from Le Théâtre du Soleil to lead a 12-session workshop, Personal Memory & Historical Memory for which we received many applications. In the evening we have the music legend Jean-Jacques Lemetre, former musical director of Le Théâtre du Soleil to give his workshop. This kind of opportunity is out of the ordinary. Theatre professionals should not miss any of this!

Makoto Matsushima is coming back to Hong Kong for one more impressive movement workshop, "Makoto Matsushima's Super Physical Workshop - Why Move?" This workshop, intended for actors, performers and dancers who do and do not like to think, will take place in the evening from 10 to 14 April, 2017.

Theatre Horizon's latest workshop brings Marek Becka, one of the most interesting puppetry artists in Czech Republic to Hong Kong. In this workshop, as part of the "New Directors' Movement," students will create their own puppetry or object theatre piece with Marek's masterful coaching.

Following the traditions of Theatre du Soleil of France, we are opening the afternoon sessions to 5 observers. Please refer to .
